NASCIO’s 2012 State CIO Survey Shows Big Shift to the Cloud

The 2012 NASCIO Survey includes the table shown here (I added the bar chart for clarity). Those describing themselves as “highly invested” only grew by 1%, but 65% more reported having some applications in the cloud and considering others.  Furthermore, those still investigating dropped by almost 68%. In other words, 2012 has been a huge year for cloud adoption by state governments. The chasm has been crossed and the crowd is following the early adopters at an increasing rate.
